I don't know any of the pubs over that way i'm afraid.

We need a bigger car park than the one at our last meet!

The spade oak has a sizeable (tarmac'd) carpark although the road to it leaves a little to be desired iirc.

I seem to remember the food being pretty average and the tables/menus pretty sticky at the Spade Oak, but we'd be up for it. Er, when? Now it's holiday time there will be lots of walkers/families trying to nick our parking spaces. Sat lunch/teatime might be easier than Sun at this time of year.

I have an alternative suggestion, we went here a few weeks ago - loads of parking in various overflow carparks and great food (plus a nice drag up the A40 to get there ).

It's in a place called Shabbington. Anyone else know it? Definitely worth a drive out.

Very nice, but more of a Thames Valley venue than a Wye and Pie venue (the gist being near the river Wye)

Well it's next to a river, and the Spade Oak is next to the Thames not the Wye

What about the Crown in Penn? Large car park (although it does get busy), slightly more upmarket than the Spade Oak too...(tables are less sticky)

Depending on when then I will be in either a filthly black Chimaera or a shiny silver Tuscan

The Crown is a really popular place, we may struggle to get served in reasonable time.. .. .. does the Old Bell in Wooburn have much of a car park ?

In fact the River Wye joins the Thames at Bourne End (Marina) so Spade Oak is only 1/2 mile from the Wye Rich...
