Need to get 4 tyres removed from my alloys, and then 4 other tyres fitted on them, balanced and fitted to the car. Have all the tyres already so just need to pay for the labour. Any cheap places near Reading that you would recommend? Best quote so far is £72 which seems a lot.

These guys are excellent:

http://www.elitewheels.co.uk/

Fitted tyres for my Noble, Z4M and family cars plenty of times. Very careful with the alloys (never been marked whatsoever) and the cars.

They are actually my best quote so far, so may well use them. Annoyingly the wheels are not on the car at the moment so may have to take 2 trips as 4 wheels and another set of tyres wont squeeze in but they are fairly local

Tyranis in Woodley are very good, great service and good prices (if buying tyres)

Hmmm, I had exactly the opposite with Elite... very slap-dash and had to get 2 of the wheels on the RS6 re-balanced somewhere else.

Maybe it was a bad day.

Cheers, hadnt heard of them but going to pop in there later today, they would be an ideal location as I have relatives just down the road I can visit whilst the tyres are being changed

Britten Tyres in the Robert Court Estate behind Gowerings on the Basingstoke Road are always pretty careful and reasonably priced. John or Paul are the guys to talk to.

Had someone from Top Gear tyres Reading come out and replace a valve on one of my noble wheels. Nice fat dent in the rim now courtesy of their mobile fitter and they're denying all knowledge of it. Avoid!

They broke the £100 tyre sensor on my Aero 8 rim being slapdash removing the tyre..and admitted so. They used to be an approved Pirelli fitting centre, not now.

Use these all the time (not just because they are 300m from my house). Excellent service always weight the wheels on the inside (Twit Fix never get that !!)

Martin at the tyre barn in Newbury gets my vote, I put all our company cars through him for tyres and obviously my own. Tel 01635 37283 and mention Nick at Q suggested you spoke to him and I'm sure he will comfortably beat any quote you have

Thats a good price. Did they balance and weight them? Were you fitting new or part worns? Know some places can be arsey about fitting part worns, with good reason i guess but i have had the tyres since new, just swapped them over to lower profiles when i had a celica, now i have a WRX and i cant live with the harsh ride anymore!

Bought two tyres from The Tyre Barn today. Price was competitive (Bracknell Tyre & Battery might possibly have been slightly cheaper), BUT the service from The Tyre Barn was outstanding.

Computer four wheel alignment (including toe in and camber check) was included in the price of the two new tyres. I also asked them to move the two rear tyres that I was keeping onto the front and without me asking they balanced them for no charge. Very courteous too. I’ll certainly be going back there when the remaining pair need replacing. Excellent.

I've had 4 track tyres (A048) fitted & balanced to my 15" wheels by Fast Fit, next to Inchcape Ford in Wokingham for £10 for the lot. I think they did it as a bit of a favour and to get a good look at my car though, I don't think that is the usual price.
