Help guys, can anyone recommend a good immigration lawyer? I ahve what I believe to be a very straight forward question but getting simple answers is proving difficult.

Mrs CVP and I are over here on E2 visas (one each). She is an expat and I am a local hire. At the end of our assignment in the US we are planning on travelling for 3.5 months before heading home.

We do not have any issue with Mrs CVP as she remains an employee of the Uk company and has to be in contact occasionally during the sabbatical so we cold state she is still working and so the E2 is still OK. Our E2 and current I94 are valid way beyond our return date

The issue is me. I will have to resign when I leave the US company and hence I will no longer be covered by the E2 as I will not be working any more. We are told it's best to convert the E2 to a B2 but getting guidance on when to do this is proving tricky as I will be working right up until the time we start to travel.

We have all the bases covered in terms of being able to support ourselves financially, inc medical coverage during our trip and we have our one way tickets booked back to the UK, so it's just the visa issue to sort.

Can anyone help / recommend anyone to assist

thanks

Chris

You could post a question on here, i have linked directly to the visa subforum of the USA main forum:

http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=...

There is a poster called S Folinsky who is an attorney, there are a few others on there as well - you might be able to use one of their services.

Thanks, I have posted there as well and have something that confirms what my googling is telling me. I think I can file just before we head off and be in compliance with the rules but I'll get some expert help to check. It's not something I want to get wrong!

I'm a Scottish lad living it up in CA. I'd highly recommend Jennifer Keating of National Immigration Law Corp. in San Diego. I believe they can handle cases all over the USA or refer you to a decent lawyer in your vicinity.

Good luck!

We used these guys for both my L1A's and Green Card.

Extremely efficient set up and great communication.

I used Megan Kight of Broyles, Kight and Ricafort in Indianapolis. She was excellent. 317-571-3600.
