I'm off to Chicago in 3-ish weeks, and part of my holiday is a small road trip.

Have decided that I fancy a treat, so heart set on a Mustang (my all time favourite car) and I finally find somewhere that'll do them. Then I change my residency to UK, and the vanish

Can anyone please help suggest a rental company that might help - Enterprise/Hertz/Alamo/Avis all tried

Thanks

CVP

Is it possible to book through the UK site version of Enterprise, Hertz or someone like carhire3000 before you go? Alternatively give their central booking number a call. I have never had an issue renting in the US with a UK licence so that can't be the issue.

All the big coompanies have Mustangs. I have rented a few hard tops and soft tops.
The soft top boot is small and you cant fit a medium size case in it as the opening is very narrow.
The rentals are generally V6 which sound OK but dont have much grunt. The V8 Mustangs can also be rented but companies like Hertz and Avis put them in the 'FUN' class and so cost quite a bit more.

I normally phone and book but you need to make it clear you want a Mustang.

If you're in Chicago you absolutely must use the "services" of this guy.

Back to the OP's original question...

Because I prefer to pay for my car hire is US$ cash at the desk, I always leave the "my resident country" option as USA.. I've done this for ten years and countless hires and never had anyone even mention it.
