Just after a VIN check running to see if a car I'm buying is on any databases which it shouldn't be i.e. stolen? Here's the problem - it's a 70's Alfa so has a seven digit VIN (not the 17) and the guy only can only provide a bill of sale for it.......not so much of a problem as it's Georgia, so anything pre '85 doesn't require a title.

It's not a large sum of money, but I don't want to put a load of work into it for it to turn out to be stolen.....failing that, someway to check the current status would be great!

Cheers

Neil

You can do a good basic cheap check on line (£3.95) just search for 'my car check'

Yes, two problems with that.......it's a UK site - and I'm in the USA. And the Alfa has a 7 digit VIN instead of 17......more likely law enforcement could help.

Try this lot - https://www.carchex.com/inspect/order/

I used them, they were very prompt in doing the inspection and producing the report.
