im looking at doing the camp america summer camp in summer 2011, my visa will last for 90 days, though the camp only lasts for 3 months, i was looking at going to a camp in florida so i would then have basically 3 months to travel america, so i was thinking about, buying a car i would want to spend roughly $1500-$2000 would be great to have a v8 smile, so i was wondering how can i get insurance to cover me in america? also what does a car need to be on the road in the us? such as the mot in england?

You most liely won't be able to buy (and more importantly register) a car unless you have a US driving license and are a resident of a state. Its not the same as the UK.

If you have a friend who is a US resident they could register it in their name for you.

How many days are there in 3 months, then?

Non-starter I'm sorry to say - unless you go the route that Eric has already suggested.
An FL registered and tagged car requires zero in terms of a roadworthyness/emissions test, so you can have at it with any old clunker.
