Ok my family and I are coming out to the US, October 13th 2010 for 16 nights.

6 Adults + 5 Kids

During this we are going up to the parks for a 4/5 night break. That's the easy bit!

Our trouble is where to stay Gulf Coast area.

So far my favourite/favorite area looks like Tampa but with so many other areas around this to consider I'm getting confused.
Our plan is a Very large Villa 6+ bedrooms, near an area of good bars and restaurant's + beach's etc. We will also be doing BBQ's and so on. So any suggestions on areas that would suit our family that would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Rob

Look south towards Sarasota, Siesta Key and Longboat Key areas. More to do for a family than around Tampa/Clearwater (theme parks excluded). The area around Sanibel Island is great for beaches and no oil spills yet in the area but watch out for the active hurricane season which is what the weather people keep saying.

Best time of the year for sunsets and the humidity of August and early September has passed. Most days in the mid 80's, lots of sunshine. Evenings still warm, lows in the high 60's.

a friend of mine has a villa close to Fort Myers that he rents out. PM me and I'll give you the details. I stayed there in 08 at the end of October and the weather was great. May not have enough bedrooms for you, but let me know anyway.

Thanks guys - before I pm you, we will need a min of 6 bedrooms.

The one up by the parks (Formosa Gardens) is 7 bedroom.

If the Villa fits please let me know.

Cheers

For me, you can't beat the St Pete Beach/Treasure Island areas! ( ps, World Street Finals Drag Racing is on over the 29-31st October weekend, REALLY quick cars there!!!!!!!).
