Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Thinking of heading over for this and Pebble Beach concours in August, visiting a few wineries and then maybe topping off with a little trip to Vegas.

So, my questions are:

1. where are the best places at the raceway for photos - it looks to have some pretty big fences in places;

2. accommodation in monterey is either gone or ridiculously expensive for what it is - what is santa cruz like as an option;

3. any recommendations for hiring a classic/interesting car - I will probably fly into SFO.

Any other tips/comments appreciated.

FWIW, I've stayed at The Cobblestone Inn in Carmel, which was *really* nice!

Stayed at the Intercontinental in Monterey.
Very good but yes it was a bit pricey
