I've just rec'd mine despite it having an incorrect addresssmile US mail and the US Gov just can not agree!
I shall be correcting it for them.

First couple of questions are quite straight forward, then they get to Race. I imagine thousands of hours went into formulating these.
If you are White it appears that is all you put. No difference whether you are a decendant of the wackos off the Mayflower or just over for a couple of years on a temporary visa.
However they do differentiate between a Tongan and a Fijian.
No mention of the Middle East, but do have a tick box for Samoa.
They should have a box for "do you drive a taxi in New York"

No mention of status at all...although thinking about it, legal residents return the form, ilegals will not, so I suppose they can draw some statistics there.

Am considering putting Anglo Saxon or Angle, Angle might be fun as I'm sure this will be considered a typo and interpreted as Angel. Now if I add a ghost as person 3......deceased North American Indian maybe...Maybe not, they will just send me an extra tax return.smile

I filled mine in tonight and kept turning it over looking for more questions. When you think of the expense that goes into such a census and what little information they will get out of it, I am disappointed, to say the least - why bother!

I too was perpelexed by the incredible choices of South Pacific islander, but found no box for European American, which I consider my monority status. If we push this further, can we expect casino rights, college scholarships, whaling rights, etc....

I know. Took a whole 9 seconds to fill out. Big waste of money. But what should we expect?

And yet to hear the nutters talk about it (Michelle Bachman et al) you'd think it came with a microchip you had to inject into your own neck to allow the feds to track you.

It's totally ridiculous. They've been taking censuses in the USA in the two previous centuries and this one isn't much different.

What's worse, it's always the 'the constitution is the literal word of god y'all' nutters who do it, and yet the census is enrishined in the constitution!

The wife and I wandered down to the Capitol yesterday to point and laugh at all the hill people who've descended on DC to complain about healthcare reform. They were outnumbered by the pro-immigration rally by about a factor of 100.
