I'm after some help if there is.
I need to prove what the maximum design speeds are GM products from an official source.

Anyone able to help out?

Cheers

Just guessing here but while there may be a "tested maximum speed" - as in how fast she would go flat out - and a governed top speed - as in "you don't need to flog it any more", I seriously doubt there is a maximum design speed. Too politically incorrect or not approve by the company lawyers.

Looks like the term has more applications in aircraft where the added pull of gravity comes into play. Grady

Contact the Senate in Washington who will give you their thoughts regarding GM, its products, board and financial position. The stock price falls faster than their cars depreciate and travel even when pushed off a vertical rock face.

Maximum design speed is what the vehicle is limited to as a top speed due to aspects of its design. Yes, technically a governed top speed. In this particular instance the vehicle is limited to 98MPH so that GM only have to use 'S' rated tyres. GM use a series of maximum design speeds dependent on vehicle class. ~85MPH for trucks, 98MPH for vans and SUV's, then somewhere around 105-107MPH for cars. By limiting the speed they can use cheaper tyres.
The problem is trying to find somewhere, other than discussions on forums, where this officially wriiten down.
