My wife will be working in Dallas sometime in February and will have a free weekend.
Any 'must see' places? Anything to avoid? And what is the weather likely to be?
Any suggestions from the wonderful world of PH gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Do a tour if possible of the new Cowboys stadium. As a piee of 21st century sports architecture it is pretty amazing.

The JFK experience is very interesting if you fancy seeing Elm Street, the grassy knoll and the book depository.

There is a smallish flight museum, an art museum and the rodeo in Ft Worth, 40 mins away.

Southwest of Ft Worth is an amazing motorsport ranch / countryclub. Owners can garage, race and enjoy motorsport related events as would any golfer.

Steak and Tex Mex Restaurants are good, fashions dodgy and the scenery is nice!! Downtown has some good eateries, as does Oak Lawn....an upmarket suburb. Lakewood is also a good area for dining.

Nightlife is mixed, Deep Ellum is fun but edgy, great dining!!

Gingerman is a good place to eat, Chateaux wine market is for serious wine junkies, Muddy waters is a good Blues bar, the Petrus Lounge is louche but has amazing views of the skyline and a garden!! Stout is a good pub and a great staring place for the evening, and here is a good restaurant guide.

Was in Dallas about 4 years ago.
Checked into the Hyatt down town went to my room to drop off the bags and glanced out of the 14th floor window.
Whow instantly recognised the bit of road and grassy knoll where JFK was shot. It was trully amazing how my brain instantly recognised the details.
Depending on your age, it may be a bit sad but will certainly stir the sole when you see it for real.

Judging by your cars you should be old enough to remember. biggrin

Lol, indeed I am, but unfortunately it's my wife and not me going. I have suggested watching 'Debbie does Dallas' to get some ideas but it didn't go down too well.

Was in Dallas a couple of years ago.
As a single man, I had a great time. The women are gorgeous and friendly so my pals and I just hung around the bars and the odd club. TBH didn't get to see too much else of the city as a result but had a fab time.
