Thinking about moving to the UK
Discussion
I have always been treated very well when I have visited England. I was fortunate enough to meet kind people everywhere I went. It's close to so many other countries that holidays would be amazing! If I can manage to find a job and re-locate there, I think I could tolerate the dampness for an opportunity to have a bit of fun!
I'm not sure you will get an answer with regard to which hoops to jump through as most people don't know the rules on immigration to their own country.
Try and find an American web site, maybe USAF or similar, I'm sure some of those guys will have checked it out.
Maybe they should allow "swaps" just find someone that wants to live in the states, shouldn't be too difficult.

Thanks Jeff! Unfortunately, the Americans I associate with have even less interest/knowledge about trying to move anywhere abroad!! A lot of people are never bothered about leaving the neighborhood they were born in. USAF (or any other military)sites wouldn't help because the government takes care of all of the paperwork, so moving is never an issue for them. I could probably get the paperwork sorted, but wonder about if the places I've visited are actually nice places to live... and affordable!! EVERYTHING looks good in the online ads!!!
Have a look at the UK Government website, should give you a starter.

The last time I visited, I stayed in Gerrards Cross and loved it!!! (Definitely can't afford it tho) A branch of the company I work for is in High Wycombe so a practical move would be to High Wycombe or nearby somewhere in Uxbridge where I have stayed on a few previous visits as well! Any thoughts on High Wycome? Suggestions are definitely welcome!

When you say "hot" do you mean literally temperature as in the southern states or do you mean somewhere that's interesting? Where do you live?
No I meant somewhere hot, as in Florida, California, Hawaii.I'm trying to get out there for a student placement scheme over the summer. Desperate to get out of the UK.
I'm in Nottingham, which is right smack bang in the middle of the UK.

High Wycombe? If you think Flint, Michigan is nice or Gary, Indiana you'll like it. Good news is that there are nice places to the west that are pleasant and within easy reach. Anything east (Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield etc..) is very expensive. Thame is nice and so are many of the villages in that area.Gassing Station | USA & Canada | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
