Forgot my drivers license !!!

What a plonker.
I come over to the US approx 9 times a year on business.
This trip I flew into LA, shuttle to the Hertz rental and only then remembered putting my license down on the kitched table in my apartment in Germany. Hertz apologised but said no license no car and said that would be the same everywhere.
Not much my Wife in England could do so its been a case of make the best of it.

Apart from missing out on some great driving and the frustration of being more tied to my hotels, so far I've only spent about $300 in cabs but thats still working out cheeper than a rental.
Just took the SurfLiner down to San Diego for a 3 day meeting. Great, $86 Business class return with free snacks and bottle of wine.
(flight was $580 and cab driver said $300 one way)

Next is back to LA and then San Fransisco, Oakland and Sacramento before heading back to the UK from San Fransisco.
So, can some one tell me what the train service is like from San Fransisco to Sacramento ?
