California Holiday

We're visiting California this month and have hired a couple of Mustangs for a road trip down from San Francisco to LA.

Can anyone give us some tips or suggestions for the journey down, places to visit or avoid and if there are any car related or such sights worth taking a detour from the well trodden route to go and see?

We're there between 16th and 22nd September.

If you do a search in Pie and Piston there are loads of suggestions, including some from me.

Monterey is worth a visit and if you have time drop down to San Diego thats a realy nice place.

Lovely place. Fantastic food and drink to be had in Monterey. Close by is the Laguna Seca race circuit.

I'd also recommend an overnight stop in Santa Barbara.

Much of Highway Route 1 is a very nice drive. Really impressive scenery along the Big Sur section.
