Hi,

i couldn't search the forums so i'm not sure if this question has been asked and answered...

I'd like to buy a classic porsche 912 and there are some well priced and good conditioned prospects in the US. Has anyone done this before who can give me advice? In particular how did you ensure the car was in the condition they claimed (the car you got was the same one as in the photos!)? And how did you go about shipping if the shop/person you bought it from doesn't arrange shipping.

And finally, is there any import duty/tax on such cars?

You might be better off asking this in the Yank Cars section; I'm sure a few regular readers of that section could tell you about bringing cars in from the States smile

Where is it?
What state.
I hope you are getting an independent check on it.
I assume you are aware on all the usual probs eg sills near bottom of door etc and spare part prices same as old 911s. Door pockets and dashes getting rare.
