I think I have figured out why there are so many cars around here with cracked winsdscreens - I can't find any links on the net to a windshield repair specialist in West Houston. Its only a small crack and I don't want to replace the whole screen just yet. All I can find is auto glass suppliers... are there any national (or local) chains that anyone can recommend? I also now appreciate the UK insurance that covers glass for a £50 excess...

www.ableautoglass.com/ have a mobile service
www.atlasautoglass.com/ have a mobile service
www.rockchip.com/ also have a mobile service

Not used any of these but I'd give them a call and see what they can do.

Thanks Steve - I'm going to check in with my insurer on Monday (Does nobody work weekends here?) to see what the lay of the land is.

How is the TT going? Haven't seen it around yet! I'm sure I'd notice...

TTs running great thanks, had a great run back from Dallas the other week when I picked it up. Also went to a well organised Houston Imports car meet last Saturday night at Westheimer and Shadowbriar, lots and lots of nice cars, Japanese, German, Italian, I arrved in convoy with 2 other 996tts, 2 996 gt2s and fezza 360 after we had a quick blast to stretch our legs on the into town.

Are you still looking for a weekend P car?

Not with any serious intent just now. I'm thinking of getting something with a view to taking it back to the UK eventually, so it will be something older than my 968 was probably.
