Looks like Tampa is going to take a battering along with a lot of Florida! How are you guys over there looking?
We've got a place in LBV, not too far from Disney. All I can do is keep an eye on it through the Ring cameras...
All seems calm at the moment.
Helene luckily didn't do much where we are apart from a bit of rain and some wind.
I'm next there in January, was looking forward to Busch Gardens, hopefully still standing.

I think one of the big problems is going to be the debris from last time in certain parts ending up as projectiles.
We spend a lot of time on Longboat Key and that is a proper mess after Helene. Must be a horrible feeling to be pretty much helpless wondering if/when you're going to get hammered and how hard. Even evacuating and leaving your stuff behind must be hard.

I'm at the east end of Sand Lake Road, near the airport. Commercial operations cease at MCO on Weds morning.
The big lakes around me make the wind speeds/gusts a bit more intense and my neighborhood has a lot of big oak trees, with power lines strung through them. Power could be off for some time - thankfully I have a generator capable of powering my house, but I'm very concerned about my pool enclosure and other outdoor structures. If the wind starts to threaten the pool cage, I'll slash the screens and hope that the metalwork survives.
I had a very bad experience with Hurricane Charley in 2004 (damage-wise) - I think this could be similar.
My brother lives in Tampa - the storm surge there could be a nightmare scenario. Several friends in Clearwater, St Pete and New Port Richey, already swamped by the last one - this is going to be miserable for them.

Apart from the generic greeting, I hope all went well last night, it sounds like a rough one. And crucially, I hope the garage stayed weathertight and the vehicles are ok.

Hope the rellies are OK - Osprey took a bit of a pasting. It turned out to be quite benign here, despite all of the predictions.
