Moving Company Recommendations - UK to USA
Discussion
Hello all, I hope you are well
Myself and my wife will be moving to Texas (Austin) from the UK (North West) at the end of the year. I am looking for any recommendations of moving companies to use (or not use!).
I thought I have found one, but they have become quite unresponsive, which I take as a bad sign. Thankfully have not yet been paid.
We don't have much furnitre, mostly clothes, so volume wise I would guess a 1 bedroom apartment (say 12 m3?).
It appear that prices have also risen quite rapidly recently, so any alternative ideas are very welcome!

Yeah I completely agree. We did the same moving back to the UK from Switzerlandm Sadly we've accumulated some quite cool items, and my wife a lot lot of clothes, so I'm not sure that is an option this time!
North West England to Texas... she ain't gonna need half of those clothes. Get rid. Maybe see if they will ship the POD from the UK to the US.
They drop off a POD at your house, you fill it, they collect it and deliver it to your new address where you unload it. Simple concept and very popular here.

If you're still looking for options, check into 3 movers - they're based out of the U.S. but do a lot of international moving so they might be a good option. Definitely steer away from any companies that become unresponsive. Moving overseas involves a lot and any company that doesn't totally have their bases covered is one you should avoid. Best advice I can give is to find a couple good options and get estimates from all of them to see where they are as far as price. I'd probably ask a few questions of them too, just to make sure they know what they're doing.
