One way family car hire... must be fun!
Discussion
My summer holiday this year will be road tripping from San Francisco to San Diego, via LA, on the PCH. There will be four of us, me, the Mrs and two teens, plus luggage. I'd very much like to hire a car that has decent power and is reasonably fun to drive, however, it seems I'm restricted to either big SUVs or some form of barge/luxury sedan.
The four of us plus luggage won't fit in a traditional muscle car so I was hoping to get something like a CT5-V or something similar. However, I can't seem to find any rental companies that do that sort of thing. So what cars should I be looking at that will (hopefully) give me a V8 rumble in something large enough to be 4 up plus luggage?
Any and all help welcome!
Thank you.

I appreciate you would like a high torque V8, but there a few other criteria for those in the back.
CT5 isn't bad rear seating (you know it's a V6 right), could do worse.
For me the two choices, although extreme would be a Bentley or a VW Camper..
I haven't used the sat nav in a CT5 but it's a nice size.
FYI some suvs and soccer mum cars have dual evaporators, although I think all cars now have rear climate controls.
Reluctant to suggest a Chrysler 300 as I have one, but they come in a variety of flavours, V6, V8 and the hemi V8, some all wheel drive.
Easy to drive, comfrtable front and rear seats, good climate system and an excellent sat nav, no learning curve.
