CBS's Coverage of Canada F1
Discussion
Blaaahh! I haven't seen F1 coverage this poor since Jason Presily was in the pit lane at the US GP.
Derik Daly in particular is really a poor announcer. I realize there must be some pressure during a national broadcast in a popular time spot but he made so many misquotes and gave out confusing information to fans about F1.
Really, they should sack him. Sorry, he has everything else going for him with his racing classes. Does anybody know if there is a problem with saying the word "screwed" on national TV. They blurped the first time but not the second and third! That other old driver BELL would be a good replacement. He understands F1 better than Daly.
Furthermore, I read Mr Daly (Daley?) 's article on a test drive in a Jordan last Summer and it too was characteristically pitiful (He quotes material from it every chance he gets on CBS). He could not floor the F1 car because it would blur his vision!
Good thing there is Speed Vision er oh Speed Channel (NASCAR Channel) But if F1 gains popularity in the US and CBS can out pay Speed, I fear we will miss interviews, be bombarded with advertisements for TV shows, and have poor commentary.

Hobbs!
I like him and his funny sayings despite making some poor calls or conflicting with his peers. What do you mean by "on paper" ? Or maybe I shouldn't ask.
D.D. also made a somewhat OTT comment about Webber going down the front straight at . . . was it Spain (I think) blocking someone with one move over.
I sure wish Fox would have bought the rights to the live feed for the USGP. Anyway. . .
