Any tips touring Grand, Bryce Canyon and Zion

Taking a little (4000 mile) road trip at the end of this week (10th June), down from Seattle to Tucson Arizona via San Francisco. Then I intend to visit all the great sites, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion. Also plan to drive along Highway 50, which is supposed to be the loneliest road in America.

Just wondering if any one had some tips on places to see in particular. I know there are some stunning rock formations around the area and I can't wait to take some pictures. Will driving a MX-5 and staying in Motels. Not looking to spend 4 hours hiking to get somewhere, more interested in just seeing things that I can find easily by car.

Will be surfing the web myself this week for more info, but I always find that one gets good tips from fellow visitors who have seen something.

If you like rock formations:

Yosemite is only about 4 hours east of San Francisco, you would be crazy not to fit it into your itinerary if you can. Half Dome, El Capitan, etc. are incredible, even from what you can see just driving into the valley.

Go to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon - there is a lodge there where you can stay with the chipmunks. Very peace and nice and smart in a loggy noveau wild west Aspen kind of way.

Also, Dead Horse Point was cooler than the Grand Canyon IMO, more to see (it's to the East, a smidge further up the Colorado).

Crater Lake in Oregon is really cool too (you kind of drive past it en-route).

Depending on what kinda time you have available. When you leave the Grand Canyon, go through Flagstaff and drive down to Sedona, through Oak Creek Canyon. You won't be disappointed, it's the best scenery in Arizona.

Time allowing, you could also continue south to Cotton wood and drive through Jerome (old historic mining community, great place to catch Lunch) the twisty road up & over Mingus Mountain is top down, sportscar heaven.

This same road, 89A takes you into Prescott, where I live. Again, south of Prescott is the White Spars, one of the best, twisty sportscar roads in America
