Dear Fellow PH's ,

I am about to start writing a book on the Countach , and am reaching out to enthusiasts , mechanics, dealers and owners world-wide , for material and contributions that might have a place in this book .

The last substantial book on the Countach was the Tony Dron book , which was published in 1990 .
A lot has changed in the intervening period , including the perception of the car as an objet d'art , the need for restoration rather than routine maintenance .and the part speculators and investors have played in pushing the value of these cars beyond the reach of enthusiasts .

My previous 2 books on cars , have been the first stand-alone books on that particular model or marque . In the case of the Countach , there must be almost 15 or 20 books already out there in the marketplace and I see no point in writing another book that simply rehashes literature that exists , and is still readily available .

Instead , this book will refer the reader to those established books , and then try and bring the Countach story into 2020 .

As way of introduction , I am a Consultant Eye Surgeon based in the UK , and my first automotive book was on the Lamborghini Murcielago (ISBN : 9781845849221) . This was the world's first stand-alone book on the Murcielago , and had 19 chapters , 55,000 words , 190 photographs and a foreword by Ferruccio Lamborghini .

The final drafts of the 2nd book have just been sent in to the same publishers , Veloce Publishing , and is on the Road-homologated KTM X-BOW . This book was done with the full and exclusive factory support of KTM ,Kiska and Dallara . This book should be available in the early autumn of 2019 , and is of the same format as the Murcielago book .

I have been a life-long Countach enthusiast , and I am delighted to say that established institutions like Sotheby's , Hyman international , Cats Exotics , Mulgari and Amari have already pledged , or given , material for this book . So any contributions will be in good company . The Murcielago book had contributions from just about every continent --Antartica was a little poor in helping out -shame .

I am very aware that all of my work is reliant on other people's help --after all you cant remake and then rewrite history -- and I am doing this book as a labour of love , not as a job -- so I have no issues with recognising this as being a collaborative project --- and have always fully acknowledged all contributors within the book .

I know that there is a wealth of knowledge that lurks within this and other fora , so please get in touch and also tell others who have an interest in the Countach (this is most definitely not limited to owners -- this icon has a vast world-wide following , and yet only 1998 cars were produced) about this book .

I am best contacted on : murciebook@gmail.com

I look forward to hearing from you .

Thank you
