Looking to visit Bonneville for speed week next year.

Is this possible from Las Vegas or do we need to be closer?
How much is there to see and do ?
Is it worth staying for the week or would a day or two cover it.?

Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Ian....

Bonneville 2018...ok Speedweek in August is the biggest. You have 2 options from London. Fly direct to Salt Lake City with Delta and it is a 2 hour drive to Bonneville Speedway. Or you fly to Las Vegas and drive up from there. That’s about 5 hours. You will need to stay in Wendover and if you are going book your rooms early as they fill up very quickly. Bonneville speedway is 10mins from Wendover. During speedweek there are hot rod shows opposite the Montego Bay Hotel in town almost every night. Make sure you hire a 4x4 and do not tell the hire co you are going to Bonneville as they don’t like them being driven on the salt. Day time temps in the sun are 130 F with usually less than 20% humidity. Compulsory hats and sun glasses and sun block. Racing starts at 7am or before. Last pass is about 5.45. You cannot camp out on the salt. All record runs are made very first thing. There is no place on earth like it.

Now you can also attend Spped World 3 weeks later. A smaller event but a lot cooler and more fun. Message me for more info.
