Didn't use them but did look at prices for a trip down highway 1 in late Dec. I noticed that the cars have a daily mileage limit and a fairly high excess mileage charge and there's also a 10 or 20% booking fee on top of the headline daily rate. I had access to a good corporate rate from Avis for personal use so gave Turo a miss - just as well as the weather wasn't great.

DO NOT use this company. Had a friend in town 2 months ago. A car came across the hit him head on in Hollywood. Driver jumped out and ran off. Turo promised a replacement but then suddenly began demanding all sorts of money and wouldn't return calls. Google the company (also previously known as RelayRides) for many, many customers and car owners who have been ripped off by Turo. Some incredible stories, basically seems like you are left open for all sorts of claims and cars can be handed in questionable condition and borrowers can be hit for repair claims.
