Hi, All planning a short 4 night stay in Ny in november and looking for a bit of local knowledge. We've been once 10 years ago and did most of the obvious tourist stuff then, we've got a few things we'd like to do sorted, but any advice on whats worth doing avoiding the tourist traps would be good, im particularly after a " proper " old school american diner, If they still exist i've been stateside quite a few times and never managed to find much other than the big chains...

she who must be obeyed booked us into the park lane hotel so eveything els including food needs to be on a budget... my first priority will be to find a good coffe shop near the hotel lol..

so any pointers greatly received. good bars, stuff to see thats not obvious etc etc


one of the best things we did last time ( 2 couples) was we left the girls shopping and me and my mate ended up in a random bar in Brooklyn and walked back across the Brooklyn bridge as it was getting dark and misty...
