Car rental in Vegas.
Discussion
Mark,
All the big companies are there. I recently used Enterprise, and, yes, as advertised they will pick you up for the rental and take you back afterwards; this is a free service, but of course there is a limit on how far.
I don't know whether to recommend pre-booking or not. The problem with that is that you will be given an "or equal", in other words not the car you wanted. I usually pre-book through the airline, unless I can find a good discount code. Then I argue, and usually get an upgrade fo the same price.
Wilf.

I was recently in Vegas, excellent place.
I would recommend Hertz as you get a discount if you pre-book and pre-pay. You can select an exact vehicle, if you select a vehicle there is no excuse for them not having one when you turn up. I think the prices are very similar amongst the mainstream companies but I got a further 20% corporate discount through my company's employee perks programme.
I had a Mustang Convertible for 7 days which was good. My return flight was delayed for two days so I hired an E-Class saloon for a couple of days which was rather quite good indeed.
If you are doing a driving experience I would recommend World Class Driving's Red Rock experience. You get about 30 minutes in each car and get to enjoy the scenery of Red Rock national park at speed. They have a good selection of cars which they rotate each day. I had the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 Spider, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Coupe, Ferrari 458 Italia and my personal favourite the Jaguar XKR-S Convertible.
The Trackdays are great at Las Vegas Speedway, I did one in a Porsche 997 Turbo S. The difference is that the trackdays are over in minutes, particularly in the Porsche, but the Red Rock experience is a couple of hours of driving.
I was staying in the Venetian Palazzo and I would recommend taking a look on the ground floor as there is a supercar dealership in the hotel. They let you take the cars out for a test drive for a small fee. It was £60 for 30 minutes but they really let you go mad with them. I took out the Ferrari F430 Spider. Great fun.
Hope you enjoy your time in Vegas as much as I did.
