It's hard to reply without knowing what you like to do. Most tourists like to go to South Beach one evening - plenty of people and car watching. Pricey but fun. Miami has a people mover (driverless train) which will take you to a few places on the mainland. Bayside Marketplace is also a good place; it's like a mall, but is also a good place to catch a boat atrip around the area.

Or you may want to rent (not hire!)a car and drive to the Keys.

thanks Wilf, hotelling just short of south beach to escape from the noise at night, cars and boats are great for me, so a speed boat blast around the marinas, etc

mate is into art and architecture, maybe not to much of the matter

Gator watch, Everglades, keys, key west, sea fishing, Cuban food, mermaid watching...

Nightlife galore, go to a sporting event.. Chill out on south beach. Check out he marina, take a speedboat ride through the rich and famous backyards. Ask the Kardishans if you can drop by for tea.
