trying to decide who's best for shipping a car, in shared container, from LA to Soton asap. Can anyone with experience please advise?

Not sure if this will work, but try these folks. I used them when I imported my car from the UK to the US in 2004. Maybe they work the other way too or have a US company they can recommend.

Good luck.

I'm sure its not entirely true but when i shipped mine it was told Southampton was mainly RORO. I used Kingstown shipping from Houston to thamsport in a big box. thamesport is not too far away for you to pick up from, but i will admit i was a bit nervous driving the M25 with no plates on.

So what are you replacing the snake with then pete?

Really hoping Southampton can take car containers...will find out this morning I hope. Was only given the Felixstowe option last time and drove all the way from there. Just one plod pull on the trip on the M25. Had insurance on the VIN so all ok. Hopefully it'll be a winter project, when the deal is finalised Dave, but can't say anymore til then wink

I used Mellfields Ltd in Southampton to export my Viper a few years ago back to Miami in a container and also used them again this year to ship a Z06 from Southampton to Virginia. Phone UK 023 8074 3843

i'm abit interested in all these car shipping posts.
if a similar service was offered, but at a bit more of a premium, (due to container being more car specific) would people be interested.

Don't bother looking beyond Schumacher. They are the best AND the least expensive. The also own the ships and can warehouse at both ends. For that matter, they can container the thing from and to your driveway.
