I'm going to Austin for the US GP this year. I arrive on November 13th, coincidentally on the same day the Google (Samsung) Nexus 10 tablet goes on sale. I will be in the country until November 20th. I really want to buy this tablet while I am there. Can anybody suggest somewhere which is likely to have it? I am after the 32GB model which has a $500 RRP.

I understand Best Buy is not going to stock it. Not sure where else to look.

I don't want to buy mail order due to the complications of using a British credit card and delivery to a hotel so I would like a store I can walk in and buy off the shelf.

How does the sales tax reclaim work when leaving the US? If it makes a difference I am going to Brazil on a charter flight before heading back to the UK where I am resident. The export is permanent.

Thanks!

Can't help with the store.
But re sales tax.
It's different to UK were one would present the article at an office in the airport with your receipt and boarding pass. (or that's what I've done before)
In the US you would purchase it sans sales tax.
Stating it is for export, showing passport, sign a tax exempt form etc.

However stores do not have the forms, you have to present it.
I have plenty of NJ ones, I'll try to find a link for a TX one.

Ah..... on further investigation, in Texas if you pick it up as a non business purchaser you pay sales tax, if he mails it to you in say New Mexico it's w/o S.T.
It's only about 30 Bucks on 500.
