Shipping to US
Discussion
First i'll say hello and introduce myself a little.
Im Jace, Im from the US and found this forum in search of parts for my Pontiac GTO or what the brits will call a Vauxhall Monaro.
So with that I was wondering if anyone has shipped any large parts from England to the US, such as bumpers or body panels? What sort of shipping costs were involved and did you have any issues?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

You could try STS Imports - admittedly their fare is USA -> UK, but you never know. More details on this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I have had everything shipped from the UK to Canada..from entire automobile rollers to engines, gearboxes and wings. I have friends who do the same to the US. Normally the supplier has their own contacts they favor but there are scores or good ones out there. The best all rounder would be a company called Schumacher. Costs will vary depending on where you are, where the items are, what fuel costs are at the time, how much you are bringing over, its weight and dimensions and whether you can be patient enough to allow them time to find a container you share with others. You have not given enough info to make an estimate. I CAN tell you that anything you manage to find will cut the costs of sourcing in North America at least in half.
The UK and the US must be the only two countries on the planet where the natives are convinced it is wise to source foreign-made products domestically.
