That's what I voted for too. Although I haven't been for a while.

Was last night officially a shared night, Matt? Or did word just spread that PH was there and that acted as a catalyst?

Well you can fix that by coming next month smile

Ah ok - so not really understanding the options.

Why does having our evening require changing the date?

Interesting Matt now I have seen the result so far.

A few comments resulting from the first meet at the 8 ball.

It was a resounding sucess no question. I was surprised and pleased with the response. I would be concerned about too much suceess though. If it turns out to even more popular I can see a time when there are cars queing along the A12 not being able to get in. Then the attention that bring from outside agencies.

Alternatively there have been times in past when the turn out has been low and then it might not so attractive to the 8 Ball owners. Its a hard call.

I think wait and see how it progresses. Probably alternating on an as and when basis sounds good.

There was some talk of having a supercar section in the fenced off area. That doesnt apeal to me. We all love our cars what ever they are and any sort of grading does not seem good. By all means open up the fenced off area but make it available to all (in my opinion).

Good points Ken - no need to for any sort of "section" - beauty of these meets is that you will get a Integra typeR parked next to a V8 Vantage or an E Type Jag and the gathered crowd will be equally pleased to see all three.

I agree, maybe we could have the 'caravan' car park for PHers (no matter what you drive) and the other (main) carpark for Retro rides?

Although best laid plans... people just park wherever anyway.

From the current poll then, for the coming April meet do we want to alternate (i.e. be at the Lodge) or stay at the 8 Ball then go to the Lodge for May?

I do like the Lodge summer meets - and May should be the start of the nice evenings.

Nah. Having a them and us between 'clubs' is just as bad as separating nice Ferraris from DILYSI cars like mine.

How many new (PH) attendees did you get by moving to the A12? The Lodge has always been an effort too far for a school night for me, for example.

I thought this venue worked really well; I can't comment on the previous venue as I never went but the carpark here was well lit-ish, the place had a 'PH' atmosphere about it and because the A12 sat alongside it you could get to hear/see the cars in action for a bit :->

Not a fan of sharing it out to other clubs as I love to see the variety of cars at these meets :-)

Just my 2pence worths....

I voted for find more venues and switch around; some places will suit the cold wintry nights whilst a place like the lodge is nice in the summer with a bit of greenery and a pub/bbq smile

Moving it around makes the travelling fair and will help encourage new members from different areas.

confused

And I still don't understand option 3. Was another club actually booked in last night?

No, I believe last night was just us, then maybe word got out on other forums, and then 'public' people came along too.

It is next month onwards (3rd Thursday of each month) that Retro Rides have 'booked' the place - but it doesn't mean we can't also go there at the same time.

Retro Rides sound like quite a reasonably pleasant set of 'meet-buddies' though.

Quite partial to a bit of classic bhp.

TBH,I agree with Ken/Matt,there should be NO segregation of cars at meets,no special area's for hyper/super cars,if its got an engine and 4 wheels thats exactly what its about,I dont mind parking next to a shopping trolley (alright I know it aint got an engine, but its transport)biggrin.
seriously we are all to a degree 'enthusiasts',no matter what we have, simple as that.

Not too sure on how the other club/s would take to a PH invasion on their night,I dont mind sharing, but would like to know how they feel,so you know both sides of the fence as such!

I'll go with the flow, although I do like the grass parking in the Summer months

Ok - so if we say for April meet we go again to the 8 Ball, and see how things have changed on the food side etc? It will still be fairly dark then, and the 8 Ball has better outside illumination.

Then we do May at the Lodge, as the evening will be lighter - and we can have a nice chat/drink around the cars in the usual grass area?
