Cosworth V6 Mini - Canterbury
Discussion
Does anybody else see the Mini with the Cosworth V6 in, going around Canterbury. You cant miss it, bright yellow, huge wheel arches, two big exhausts, a spoiler and the sound is rather loud! Would love to know anything about it, about how much work it was to put the new engine, and maybe some pictures? Or if the owner himself is on here?
Thanks
Thanks

Wonder if its related to the ford v6 one that we used to 'assist' with years back in SMOC. Andy Cannings was the owner of that one....
To add to this, I've found a picture in the moospeed archives taken at North Weald (I think). Due to spec it was slightly mis-classed against the next car to do a run...I seem to recall that he had bigger plans for more power (who wouldn't?). Quite an engineering achievement really...
Well, just googled 'Cosworth V6 Mini' and its came up with this(: the exact car!(:

Think the back of it is better though!

Agree - the back is the better half, can't beat a roundy front. My brother's Calibra engined mini had extended length front wings but the round front was a must-keep.
If you look at just the lower half of that rear-view picture there are definite shades of V6 clio there, which isn't a bad thing...

Seen this at mini in the park was disappointingly slow for the impressive sounding engine was running mind 16's at the time I believe :/
Did sound nice however have got the mini magazine with it in somewhere will try and copy it over every panel was hand fabricated by the owner apparently.

Mini V6, back around 1990 I suppose it was, a friend of mine in Croydon built a similar mini nicknamed "Blue Thunder". Ford Pinto powered, RWD, dark metallic blue with box-arches. Have you ever come across it in mini-land? I'd love to know if it is still around?
Pinto V6? :? You on the strong stuff again Lee?Alright Moo, no Mini V6 is the name of the poster! By a spooky coincidence I bumped into the builder of Blue Thunder in the pub last night at our monthly car meet! He knows where it is now, the guy who has it decided to change a few bits, started to strip it and chop bits about and basically bit off more than he can chew, so it is a pile of dismantled cut up bits just sitting there. Shame.
This is going to be a double spooky coincidence then.
Bought a 35mm negative scanner last week. Been going back through some of the old car pics. Got to some of a London to Brighton mini run from early 90's and one of the pics was Blue Thunder !! Don't even remember taking the photo. I'll get it uploaded...
Will make sure I get over that way soon, overdue for a pint and a catch-up
