A friend of mine has been told that she can no longer keep her dog in her flat (dog barks when friend is out). She is a 4 year old Jack Russel with a bit of beagle in her. Quite a spirited and pretty looking dog. In need of a good home. A quick ring around of the local dog homes shows them to be full up.

Alex Ried has just split up with his dog, so he might be looking for a new one?!

Sorry, on a serious note, consider this a free bump!!

Ad in local supermarket?

Might be better in the Pet Forum?

I wish I could take it personally, I love dogs and Jacks in particular, unfortunately both myself and the OH work full time, wouldn't be fair, I will speak to some friends though

Any pics?

You might get more interest if you took the bit of beagle out first.

I'm in Essex and am considering getting a Jack Russel but I too live in a flat and although I wouldn't be leaving the dog alone very often I couldn't run the risk of a constant barker frown

Can it do any stunts - you know, like licking honey of genitals, that sort of thing?

So cute, wish I could

Honestly I would ask the mods to move this if I were you, one of the dog lovers will snap him up surely?

Thanks anyway. She's not a constant barker, but where she lives the doors to the other flats are noisy and that sets her off when she's on her own. This coupled with an unwell neighbour means she has to go frown

Why would I want to lick honey off a dog's genitals?

Has your friend had the dog since it was a pup? How comes it's suddenly barking? Have they tried anything to stop it barking and keep it busy? Radio on, TV, a konk filled with frozen food, dog walker? People just giving away dogs or rehoming them is one of my pet hates (if you pardon the pun). Everyone knows terriers are THE most hyperactive and barking dogs out there. Hope your friend finds a solution or a loving home for the little chap.

The dog was left with her for a couple of hours by a 'friend'. That was just under a year ago!

Anti bark collar, citronella spray, TV and radio etc. etc. all tried. I can see where you're heading with this but I'm sorry, she won't go as far as muting the dog as she (and I) feel this to be very cruel.

The decision to no longer have the dog in her flat was made for her.
