As an idea, I thought we could potentially hold a meeting at Little Havens Hospice.

I know how well these events go down with the Hospice themselves, and PH usually gives a great response.

I obviously still need to speak to the Hospice themselves, and check their thoughts on the matter/dates.

But, as an idea, who would be up for a Spring meet (and possible drive out) to cheer up some ill children (& adults too possibly)?

One thing I will add is that, the Ferrari Day's are now no longer held there as neighbours along the street complained about the noise and speed of vehicles going up and down all day longcurse

But, if one is sensible about it,and if we can raise some dosh for these Children,I'm all up for that, its just a shame that these so called neighbours put the dampers on it,I bet if the boot was on the other foot as such, they would soon change their minds.

I suggest a chat with the Hospice about any insurance issues that may need to be adhered to, got around etc and see what they come back with.

There is no real need to annoy the neighbours, and given the road they are used to cars speeding along it by now. Cars on the day could come out of the entrance and turn right towards Woodmans roundabout, then right towards Rayleigh weir and from there left onto A127 followed by a loop around the A130 or down to Saddlers Farm and back again.

Could be fun biggrin

Best one to speak to is Jason,he will know exactly what's required, there's no issue with insurances,as you are only giving someone a ride in your vehicle, you are NOT being paid for Hire and Reward.
Bear in mind, the road is 30mph wether you turn right or left.

I'll try and speak to him during the week, I think I've still got his details from Dunton somewhere.

Well Jason got back to me, saying the focus for their Car Events is the Dunton day - I'm guessing by the absence of any mention of my suggestion, they don't want to do it!

I have a couple of other ideas (still with local charities/hospices) so will update when I hear back further.

LOL - perhaps not in that case.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the Dunton day?

Now that does look like a good idea and for a very worthy cause, are there any dates for 2011?

I think it was Sept last year. They generally want Ferraris, Lambo etc - didn't seem too keen on humble Tivs!

I did notice that after my last post, I had a look through a number of videos and I think I spotted one what looked like race spec Griff kitted out. Mainly expensive exotica including a Ferrari F40 cloud9

I think our Tivs may be a tad too humble amongst that lot!

Matt, at least you gave it a shot mate, well done for taking the time to find out.
The Dunton meet is a long busy, and tiring day, although enjoyable, especially when you can get a smile on some of the childrens faces,Fbloke, myself, and a few others on here have been going there since its first inception, and seen it grow over the years,I think from memory they made about 38k last year for the hospice, all worthwhile in my mind.
Cheers Mattthumbup
