Total chaos and virtual gridlock around M20/M26 junction. One of my van drivers wanted to leave the M26 at Wrotham as he was running low on fuel but had to go all the way up to M20/M25 junction running on fumes.

Not happy until we heard that a lorry driver died when two lorries collided. So we didn't have such a bad day after all.

Feel sorry for the lorry drivers, the one that died and the one that probably feels pretty lousy right now.

I went past this later in the day bound for Sittingbourne, at which point the second of the lorries was being removed.

Even making allowances for the fire brigade trying to cut the driver out of the cab, I've never seen any vehicle looking so utterly destroyed. frown It looked like maybe he'd not spotted stationary traffic and piled into the back of another truck at full speed.

I suppose at least the driver's death must have been completely instantaneous.
