Can anyone recommend a decent allow wheel refurb company to do the wheels on my NSX - sadly selling after a few years of great fun ownership and just getting everything looking nice before she goes. The wheels are the standard 7 spoke silver.

I've used them several times, most recently about a month ago to refurb the wheels on my Chimaera 450. Always produced a stunning finish on the wheels I have had done and the guy who looked after my car (Chris) obviously took some pride in his work.

Only minor downside is that they are so busy they rarely answer the phone or email. I popped in to see them one Saturday morning (they are behind Gillingham station) and was shown a variety of silver finishes to choose from and booked the car in there and then. You can either have them collect the wheels from you or you can deliver your car to them on a Wednesday morning and collect Friday evening / Saturday morning, which is what I did.

Hi Grey Ghost.

I have spoken to Tony (the owner) recently regarding some emails that are going answered as the subject was bought up on here a while back. He said there has been an on going problem with emails not being received through the enquiry section on their website. I don't know if this has been sorted yet, so will give him a nudge again tomorrow.

As to phone calls going unanswered, they do have 2 receptionists that take calls but can at times, due to the nature of their business, can both be away from their desk for a few minutes at a time. I guess you may have been unlucky on the occasions that you have called. On the rare occasion I have had this happen, I give it 5 minutes or so and call again and most of the time get through.

Hope this helps and as said before will let Tony know of your concerns. thumbup

Evening Westy,

I have no issue at all with Lepsons and really do appreciate why they are so busy having visited their site on more than one occassion. I have always found their staff to be fully customer focused when I do communicate with them and the personal touch they offer when you drop off your pride and joy ensures you are happy to walk away and know that you will come back in a few days to see your wheels looking exactly as you would like them to thumbup

It's almost worth locating another set of wheels just to have the graphite grey finish I was also considering......biggrin

My 17" soft spoke RS alloys were £329 for 4 including new valves. Their pricing structure is based on rim size and is on their web site somewhere. It does sound like a lot of money but in my case I feel it was well worth it.

KDS has done a basic price structure on his website for Lepsons, have a look under the wheels section.

http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/optional_extras.phtml

It will also depend on the finish you have, wheel type etc etc etc which will determine the price. Which is probably why Lepsons haven't put prices on the site. Therefore probably best to phone for a quote.smile

LOL, know what it might look like but you get what you pay for. With some other firms they only focus on damaged areas and then repaint the wheels so that repairs are masked and the wheel "looks" as new to the eye. With the Lepsons process the wheel is completely stripped via acid baths, heat treatments etc and then any repairs take place ahead of refinishing and finally spraying and lacquer coating. To be honest the finish is better than some cars I have had from new. I can clearly read all the writing on the wheel itself and there is no paint over run anywhere, trust me I've had all the wheels off and had a good look at each of them getmecoat

If you are able to pop into their workshops they will gladly show you around and explain options to you as well as being able to show you finished wheels in colours and finishes you might want to consider.

Steve,

The other option is JP Polishing in Canvey. Iirc they charge around £180 for 17" and just over £200 for 18" in any of their standard powder coats. The finish won't be as good as Lepsons but they'll be presentable enough for selling.

If it was me though I'd go to Lepsons.

Matt.
