Hi guys, there is a car club meet taking place on the 24th of January so for those who are interested, the details are:

Date: 24th January
Time: 10:00
Start Location: M20 Services at Junction 8 (Maidstone)
End Location: To be confirmed

Although this is organised by Kent Car Club, this event is in association with Kent Car Owners Club, therefore all makes and models of cars are welcome to attend.

If you are interested in attending, please post here to let us know.

Please be aware that we will be making good progress and driving to the road conditions. The 2 hour route will take you through a variety of roads heading southwards, skipping between the Kent and East Sussex border, ending with a pub lunch sometime between 12:30 - 13:30 (traffic dependant).

There are two £25 gift vouchers up for grabs to the best presented cars who's photos will be placed on the Kent Car Club website after the event.

Though if there's gonna be a run, is 10:00 not a bit late to start ? Done several runs in Kent over the years, usually starting around 7 or 8, and by the time we get to 9 and 10 o'clock it's much busier on the road and it's hard to "make progress" and keep the convoy together...

If the weather is poor, the pace will be adjusted to match and due to the time of year, the extra traffic for a mid-morning drive shouldn't impact the convoy too greatly.

Keeping safety in mind, an early start in January would not be a good thing - the road conditions are not as predictable as spring/summer and I would rather not take the risk at this time of year.

Later in the year we will be doing other events, including early morning / sun-rise and late night driving but these will be held when there is less chance of the weather taking the fun out of things.

As I will be leading the convoy, I want to make sure people enjoy the drive while still being safe and not silly so I hope you understand my comments above.

Chaps,

Going to have to withdraw - am selling the Frog (hopefully) and more than likely will also be in the USA at the time working....

Have a great safe run.

Not 100% I can make it as i'm working nights over that weekend, but will try as always. Run only for me. Sadly no time to stop for the pub lunch. And I LOVE pubs. cry
