Dear all

I'd like to take some pictures of the Diablo tomorrow afternoon.
I was wondering if any of you guys could suggest some fab locations in Essex to do this?

I'm based in Maldon.

Many thanks in advance

Should be some nice places out that way. I'd just go for a drive and see what you can find. This is out by Nounsley (sp)

Or these are just in the local multi storey in Basildon:

There used to be a cracking carpark in Chelmsford that had tonnes of graffiti. Down by the gasworks. Not sure if it will have been cleared off by now.

Still there mate... with plenty of graffiti.

Couple of other suggestions:

Corringham - time it right & you should be able to get flames from the gasworks in the background from Manorway.

Bradwell - with the power station in the background - decent road on the way down to there as well.

Andrewsfield aerodrome, Gt Saling nr. Braintree - there's an old Super Sabre (or similar) there.

Purleigh - you should be able to find some where to park with a decent view across Heybridge Basin in the background.

Foulness Island - restricted access, far as I'm aware, but looking at Google Earth looks interesting. I've always been keen to go there.

Cool pic - think I saw you couple of weeks back coming out of Chelmsford. Mate of mine - Mike (Arabian) on here's just bought a Noble.

Wasn't me, it hasn't been out of the garage for months. Too many toys and not enough time sadly.

Similar to the above you can also get pretty close to the petrol containers in Thurrock - arse end of the industrial areas down Oliver Rd / Burnley Rd or Oliver Close.

If you like the industrial look you could head down the Mannor Way in Corringham. Most of it is public road iirc. Should be able to get some good night shots with Corryton (sp) in the background. You might need another car or another light source to get a decent exposure of your car though.

If faded industry is your thing the factory at the end of Mill Lane, Rochford is pretty good.

There's normally a guard in the hut but I'm pretty sure he'd let you in for a few snaps if you ask nicely.

You're then in a fairly good area for some more countryside type shots too.

Nice, but it's got twice as many scoops on the roof as it should have, and it should be orange!! wink

See you guys soon.

P.S. D wants to talk to you guys about setting up a photographic shoot some time next year. He has plans for some tracking shots as well as static. He may even have his new camera by then, which should be capable of producing some stunning shots, and in a high enough resolution to be blown up to 20" x 30" prints or even bigger if someone wants a canvas done.
