May need to get a Jaguar XJ6 from Clacton to Chelmsford in the next few weeks - nothing wrong with it, it runs and drives - but it's been stored for a couple of years, it's SORNED, the MOT has expired and it's not insured either.

I'm not prepared to risk driving it myself, but if anyone has a trailer or trade plates and can do the trip for me legally then let me know how much drink or £££.

Cheers JS

Because the MOT has expired you would have to trailer it.

If you book the car in for an MOT near to your home, you can drive the car there and then home again if it fails. This has to be a reasonable distance though. IMO Clacton to Chelmsford is a reasonable distance. Although I've had differing views on this from a couple of police sources. The lack of tax may be a problem though and this is where the advice given to me differs. One PO said that the above would not apply as there was no tax on the car. Another PO said that you need the mot to tax it so you are fine to go for the mot first.
