Hi, I'm setting up a photoshoot for 4 or 5 Hot Rods for a series of articles for a UK Hot Rod mag on 04/07/09. I've tried Rochester Airport, Maidstone Studios and Chatham Maritime but no luck so far. I strike out and 2 no replies as yet.

Does anyone here have any ideas or suggestions where we could shoot? I need space for at least 5 American cars as a group shot is needed for a cover.

Ideally I need the location to be in the Maidstone area as all cars are local.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it's still there, but there was a police skid pan which could be hired in Maidstone.

Buckmore Park might make a wierd 'out of scale' shot?

There's a petrol station on the A20 near Wrotham with a small lane alongside called Gasoline Alley. Maybe a forecourt shot with the sign in the background?

Thanks guys, the Police are still using the skid-pan, my mate did a day there the other Saturday. Gasoline Alley is a good idea but sadly a bit small. My good friend Tony Dickson used to run the American Car Spares shop there until he sadly passed away.

The shoot is for a Saturday morning so I'm guessing Buckmore would be busy.
We are shooting 4 features at once so different backdrops would be handy, the reason I tried Chatham Dockyard.

Thanks for your time, keep 'em coming!!

You could try contacting Sheerness docks, you have the more modern side of things (their 2 mobile cranes) and it slowly goes back in time to the turn of the centuary with the old port wall and buildings being the oldest points.

Due to a big re shuffle, i don't know who is in charge any more, but try speaking to either Paul Glock or Ant Young. general no is 01795 596596

No business fancy getting there premises featured in a national magazine then? Oh did I mention there are models???
Somewhere out of sight of the general public would be cool.

Opposite Gillingham Police station there's a large scrap yard with mounds of scrap everywhere. Maybe worth asking in there if there's something suitable.

How about Wateringbury Boat Marina. Has boats up along the river and should have plenty of space. Have spoken to the owner who is a bit of a petrol head and says he's very interested. I'll email his name and number.

Failing that bring um round my gaff, won't be any room for ya but a least i can have a good ol' nose. biggrin

Edited to say, did i see 3 of them driving up towards the TV studios this afternoon, 1 cream, 1 red and 1 blue i think.

Hello mate - there's a brand new industrial estate that has just been built in Sittingbourne. It's currently unoccupied and has AWESOME lighting! Very quiet round there and no hassle from anyone.

Here are a few shots of a recent car meet:

I should really remember that, as I live in Minster... have been there a few times and you can get alot of really good shots even when the weather is crap!
