1/4 Drag Strip......

Went to maidstone cinema last night saw Grand Tourino, cool ,deep film...
Whilst parking noticed the security staff asking the young lads in there Corsas , Saxos etc to move on. Now it occured to me that in the maidstone ,kent area there is lots of land which granted is used for farming etc but there is also as much land that serves no purpose at all..how feesable would it be to get said land and set up a Santa Pod / Maidstone / Kent....
Im not young any more but lets face it we all love to burn rubber no matter what our age .

if you can afford to buy the land and convince the council to grant you permission then go for it. doubt it'd be easy to do though.

Any idea of a site in mind? I ask only so i can find a place as near as possible before the rush.

They used to do 1/8th mile racing at Detling, a few years ago now though.

I did that 1/8th mile at Detling, great fun. But only 10 cars were willing to do it despite there being 300+ cars there for a show. Shame, and it has never happened again since. Only one car at a time though.

No site in mind just a thought, got pulled over by old bill few weeks ago for being slightly chidish - junction of Knight Rider St / Upperstone St is my 1/4 strip . However they did not see as i did , lights change and go ,superb.... This made me think of the the lads at cinema and sub thread.....

Mmmm Be carefull mate. People pull out of Brunswick Street without looking and as for the Old Tovil Road exit by the old Eagle pub - seen several bad accidents there over the years.
There are far better, safer roads in and around Maidstone.

Nice couple of cars though - they would make a good drag race against my 410bhp M5

There's a brilliant place not far from me, it is a public road but it's hardly used an is an old airstrip, I wonder if the relevant people could be convinced to close it off for a day every now and again...
