Starting from West Malling.

We have some friends coming down around mid day and we intend to go for a cross country drive, say an hour to hour and a half each way. Then we'd like somewhere nice to eat. Either top class Pub Grub or restaurant that doesn't do all you can eat Sunday lunch for £5.99!! Good quality and service would be nice. Hopefully we can book in advance.

Also needs to have good access and flatish car park for cars with very low ground clearance.

Any ideas.

Try the Grasshopper at Westerham on the A25 or The Harrow in Knockholt (you'll need to Google the actual location). Head south west from West Malling (don't follow the A25 to Sevenoaks) and cross country towards Edenbridge then approach both Knockholt/Westerham from the south.

Queens Inn Hawkhurst.

Very nice Carvery and not badly priced. Good drive out if you go through East Farleigh and take a detour through yalding etc.

A bit late now, but the Hare at Langton (on the A264 out of Tunbridge Wells) does great food and there are some nice roads around there. You'll need to book on a Sunday lunchtime though.

We did a run, mostly in sunshine, makes a change.

7 mile lane, out through Paddock Wood and up to Brenchley. Joined the 21 at Kippings Cross and up to Sevenoaks. Back of Sevenoaks to Stone Street to the Snail. Gareth the Chef, top man, top chef, great food, beer, wine etc. Back via Ightham, Borough Green, A20, into 7 Mile Lane, under the railway bridge hang a left and quick blast up to Offham.

Drive, sunshine, food, drink (in moderation of course), drive, home, DONE.
