This time about Southend bound stretch from the Ardleigh Green traffic lights to beyond the BP garage.

This has been for a long time 40 from the lights to enterprise rent a car place. From there it used to be 50 up until after the BP garage where it became national speed limit. For the past few months there have been temporary 40 mph signs where there used to be 50's. Anyone know why? and is this permanent? There have been no roadworks on that side of the road...

^^^^ bump

Also, what has happened at the old Fortune of War half roundabout?

As of 2007, the Fortune of War junction had 40mph Gatso Cameras on the east and west bound approach to this junction but it appears to be decommissioned. Or am I about to get piles of nips in the post? frown

The speed cameras they have been covered up for a few months now. They only had a temporary licence due to the "slippery surface" they laid down approaching the FOW. The 40 MPH limit signs were taken down as well. The council is determined to get a permanent licence to start them up again sighting "reduction in incidents" FFS!

Surely only way to solve that problem would be to get rid of the roundabout altogether so you don't have the kink in the road. Guess that's too logical though.

When they built the bridge over the 127 for the side road I think we all thought the roundabout would go. When was that? 12-15 years ago?

Now the roundabout serves as an entrance to Macd's it will probably stay for ever.

Your right, without some pretty major changes to accommodate the on/offs for Laindon, the BP & McD's & Noak Bridge on the Southend guess it'll be too expensive for them to do (and take money from the precious scameras).

This has been suggested before many times. Apparently there are all sorts of cables and pipes and whatnot under there aND MOVING THEM WOULD BE BOTH VERY COSTLY AND TIME CONSUMING, APPARENTLY.

Anyway the average speed cameras are NOT WORKING - no one has been fined for speeding since going live. What a fuk up!

I wouldn't worry, nobody observes that speed limit from my experience, everyone treats it as 70 ,never been a camera there as far as i can remember

Also only noticed today (not be using 127 past Bas London bound much recently) that the Southend bound scamera just before the Fortune's been uncovered.

Far more interesting though, pretty sure that I saw one of the Aston Vantage RS prototypes on earlier, Southend bound 127 just before the Dunton turning - it was light blue with the vents in the bonnet. Going opposite way to me - anyone else see it?

Yep, we noticed that today on the return from Potters Bar
Did you nick it and put it over an active camera near you?

Nope, didn't see the Vantage..........shame.

Spotted this this morning... or should i say spotted a car panic brake in front of me!

Some silly little tt no doubt thought it'd be a good idea to nick the cover. London bound side is still covered.
