Hi all,
Not really sure where to post this as I only usually lurk around in the TVR forums but here goes;
I have a friend who has a 5 year old smart for-two convertible. She has been quoted 2k to have her hood fixed since it got stuck halfway down a couple of weeks ago.
Now I'm not sure of the exact part or process which needs doing but 2k is half the value of the car so a completely fruitless pursuit in getting it fixed as she might as well just leave it stuck shut as it is now.
Ant help would be gleefully received.
Thanks,
Dom

Hi dom
I remember fixing such a car with a similar problem a few years ago !!!
Dont quote me on this but i think the roof was stuck the same and was quoted around the 2K mark then to change the entire roof components!!
All a can remember is that the parts for the roof were available as seperate parts and think the car sat in the workshop for around a week while the parts were on order!!
It was a bit of a nightmare trying to strip down and rebuild the roof and is really designed as a complete unit !!!
So the roof can be repaired but does depend on the damage that a happen to the car !!!
I would think that a indy smart specialist should be able to repair it as it is proberly a common fault looking at how weak the components are!!
