Can anyone recommend a venue where my 15 year old son can have a day's tuition in a track or off-road rally car? He's done karting (track and rally) and would like to learn some new driving skills.

Seem to be lots in the North and West of England but not so many down here, or they are adults only.

We're in Colchester, so anywhere in East Anglia or Kent/W.Sussex would be great!

Does Brands not have one?

They have something called 'young drive', but it's effectively just a driving lesson with a normal driving instructor - no helmets and gloves and gravel :-)

If he is only 15, he has alot to learn, I thought I knew it all when I was that age. I learnt alot in my 1st two weeks of driving on the road and when I started racing.

You could see if you could test someone's t-car or ginetta?

I did an Earlydrive thing at Brands Hatch when I was 14. About 13yrs ago.

Sure they must do something similar.

It involved going round the track, weaving in an out a few cones etc. All in a brand new XR3i...

I took my stepson on the 'young drive' at Brands he had a great time.
Spent the drive home telling me what a bad driver I am.
A bit of 4.0 TVR opposite lock on the big clear roundabout shut him up. LOL.

I do that all the time to my parents and I'm 26. Since I lost my license I've been driven every where and because of the side effects of my tablets I have become sensitive to movement and noise. I always say why are you doing...?

Thats fair enough at least you passed your test.
This little bugger can't even stay on a push bike for 10 mins with out crashing.

Nope - let him play in the OH's MINI Cooper on private land instead.
