I know we have our monthly meets, but other regions seem to hold other events alongside them.

Andy308 in another thread mentioned banger racing - also there are several events coming up at Brands e.g British GT.

We also have some great automotive companies in the area - e.g. JD Classics (http://www.jdclassics.co.uk/) - if people fancied it then maybe I could try and organise a tour?

Just a thought anyway. smile

Well the tour is just a concept, I haven't spoken to them yet. I can't see them having strong objections though.

I'll be going to the Brands for the Historic Festival at the end of this month and the GT and F3 meeting in July in any case.
So to go in convoy would be fine with me.

The banger racing would be a good one to go with as I can arrange it as a family outing - so everybody is happy biggrin

I think the trips to traders etc is a great idea but I would struggle to make these as I would not be able to drag any small children with me.

Right, popped into JD Classics this afternoon and had a chat with one of the guys.

They are up for doing it, but require about 20 people minimum to attend. They normally hold the tours on the Saturday around 10am, and get all the staff in for the morning working so people can walk around and ask them questions.

The showroom was stunning, some beautiful cars in there and stunning restoration jobs. I should have taken a camera really, but never mind. They can all be viewed here: www.jdclassics.co.uk

If you can post up if you're interested in attending - and how many people would be coming with you.

Once I get an idea of numbers I can speak with them regarding dates, these will be limited I reckon - as they will be away at the various classic racing events coming up (Le mans Classic, Goodwood, Silverstone Classic etc).

You don't have to turn up in a Classic Jaguar - it's a tour of the facilities and cars smile
