Can anyone recommend a pub / hotel nr Folkestone

Why not stay at Ashford International?
May not be the best place in the world but neither's Folkestone and at least you wouldn't be driving past the tunnel to come back on yourself the next day.
Or you could try here:

Folkestone...err no, Ashford International..err no.
Characterful pub in the country with good beer/food/rooms and a car fanatic landlord...The Dering Arms, Pluckley. 30 mins to the Channel ports and apart from enjoying your stay your car will still have its wing mirrors attached in the morning.
Some chav threw a bottle of water at my TVR in Ashford today and you'll get the same treatment in F'stone...so aim for the villages.

The Bull at Wrotham Heath? Quirky, very old & good food & parking.

Straight run down the M20 the next day, around 45 minutes.

Hi. Thanks for the replies. Quite fancied the Dering Arms but it got a terrible review on Trip Advisor, especially in respect of the rooms. The Bull looks nice but its 56 miles from the Channel Tunnel so not exactly close.
Anyone know this place?

Why not just stay in the Travelodge in Ashford, I've never had any problems with them before? Bound to be other people on the way to the Classic staying as well, hopefully me?
We're all booked in at the Black Horse now. After a run down from N Yorks it looks just the job. Mouth watering menu, good beer on tap and a short walk to bed after an excellent meal. I'm sure the Ashford Travelodge has its charms too but this looks like it will suit us well.Gassing Station | Kent & Essex | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
