Anyone fancy polishing my car?
Discussion
Okay, my 172 is 5yrs old, and has a bit of swirling plus a few light scratches on the bodywork.
I am too busy (and in reality, too damn lazy) to polish it myself.
I think its partly down to the fact that i've never properly polished a car before so am pretty clueless.
I'm after someone who's a dab hand at it to come and clean, polish and wax my car, amking it look all luvverly, while i watch and make notes.
I would supply tea, biscuits, muffins and some fiscal reimbursement, say £25?
Its just a thought, but i'd like to learn....

ROTFLMAO £25!
I started at 4pm yesterday by washing & shammying my car, then I went on to 'Polish' 2 panels, finishing about 10pm last night. This evening I spent another 2 hours Polishing 50% of my front Clam - I really need to pull my finger out to get the car sorted by Friday.
I'd be interested, but for 10x more than your offer!

£25 won't even cover the cost of materials for a proper job. £175 and I know a fully trustworthy guy who will spend a day with a PC, remove the majority of swirl marks and give you a long lasting shine that the merest hint of rain will wash of dirt and look great again. PM me if you would like details.
LOL, i guessed there wouldn't be anyone willing to do it for £25, but hey you've got to try haven't you?
I think i'll give Clean Image a look-see, i've heard good reports.
I'm not after someone coming and removing the swirls by hand, i know thats a bigger job, just someone to come and show me the finer points of waxing and polishing...

You'll not be able to remove swirls by hand, unfortunately. With a PC (porta-cable polishing machine) you will be!
As I say, my good mate is a top bloke and loves cars....for £175 he'll get your car looking spot on, and take you through the proper processes so that in the future you can do it yourself with the swirls coming back. Heaven in a car

Come round & watch me for free! I'll even give you a bottle of beer & take you though some of the 'Finer Points'.
Failing that, look at this site - http://autopia.org/ they know everything about 'rubbing cars'

Thankfully the front end had no stonechips as it has recently been resprayed so dont know if touching in would be included

£175? What exactly does he do for that? Any ideas?
It's a day's work. What you get for that is of course largely dependent upon the state of your car but simply put it will be a detailing session; swirl removal using a PC and an assortment of polishes and potions will then be backed up by a glaze and then a hard durable wax that will not only give a deep shine, but retain paint protection for anything up to a year. PLUS it will make it a doddle to wash in the future!Of course there's the usual wheels, tyres, black bumper bits etc. but that will be dependent upon the state of the car as to how long the paint correction takes and, indeed, how long you want him to spend on the paint correction; he could spend one day or one hour, with the results appropriate to that.
Anyway, if you'd like more info send me a mail through my profile and I'll pass it on to him!
