1st April, Essex Cobra meet @ H.W.H
Discussion
it's time for the Essex cobra meet at the Halfway house again (jct A127/A128) , we normaly meet from 12 noon onwards, lets hope the weathers a bit kinder to us this month as last months meet was a total washout, as usual if any one fancies popping along for a nag & a pint you're more than welcome to.
i wouldn't want you to have a wasted trip, so please bear in mind if it's raining on sunday it really isn't worth coming along as the chances of any cobs turning up are slim, at the mo the forcast isn't looking to bad, lets hope it stays like that.

Hi mate, did I meet you there last time? Black R34 skyline.
I wont be going to this one, the car is not well.
To be honest i caant remember meetin you, i would have remembered because i love skylines and last meet i went to at hwh it was a shockingly bad day for the rain , looks ok for today though
Good to meet Rod and Del (think I heard you leave )and the Cobra boys today. Nice day for a meet.
I had an interesting journey home though. Decided to go straight home after and got onto the A130 and just as I passed under the railway bridge the Throttle stuck wide open in 3rd gear . I hit the brakes instictively and locked up (still on full throttle). Then I killed the ignition and managed to get into the adjacent layby. Car ground to a halt, F1 box so I have no clutch pedal.
I think the whole episode lasted about 2 seconds befor I killed it but it felt like ages. Lucky for me there were no other cars around. The pedal was still at full throttle in the layby and I pulled it by hand and it popped closed. Managed to drive home very slowly using minimal throttle.
I shall be talking to Lancasters on monday, I only got it back last Thursday after a cambelt change.

sounds like you had a close one Ken, glad you came out of it ok m8 , it was such a lovely day weather wise that we still had people turning up for a nag at 5pm, i finaly managed to leave the pub at about 6.
brill day thanks for popping along lads
if anyones at a loose end this fri there's an open day at DAX in Harlow, if the weathers nice there will be loads of cobs & rush's there, they lay on a bit of free grub and you can look around the factory and see how the fibreglass bodys and the chassis are made, it's only worth coming if the weathers nice though.
