Any suggestions for a decent tyre fitter. I'm based in Billericay, work in Brentwood. Bought some spanky new wheels and need to get the tyres swapped onto them. Dropped into local Kwikfit this morning and was greeted with a blank expression when I asked, "we don't fit tyres" was told. Pointed out the sign over his head which read KwikFit Professional Tyre Fitters but was told it didn't mean what I thought. Was going to ask if they sold cheese instead then in an attempt to narrow down what they did do but decided against it. Used to use Brentwood Tyres but they've sold up now so a bit stuck.
Suggestions appreciated.

The tyre place around the back of Yau's in Billericay will fit tyres, if a little expensive @ £5 each

Thanks chaps, didn't think of that place Ben but sounds good, I'll give them a try, if not then it's of to Rochford Tyres - thanks for that Chris.
Cheers

You are right, they aren't that common, mine is silver with a blue soft top, it now spends most of its life in the garage as house stuff is taking all of my attention/time/money

Elite Direct in Rainham I've found to be excellent both for fitting and having tyres delivered. I'm happy to take the trip under the river as they are so careful and tidy - my wheels leave cleaner than they arrive every time!

I've been warned off going there at weekends though, as its supposed to get packed by yoofs.

I've only used them for run of the mill type jobs but Queens Park Tyres on the Queens Park roundabout, Billericay are always very helpful (and cheap)

What tyres are you after?

I recently bought 4 boots for the GT3 and got a (reputable) local supplier to do the job. Very happy with the fitting service, looked after the rims, but were over £100 more expensive than buying tyres over the net. I'm all in favour of supporting local business but won't be able to justify the extra next time.

Get some quotes for online delivered tyres and ask your local garage how much to fit? (£10-20 inc vat per corner?)

regards

Michael

Just remembered - the little garage on the Hutton side of Shenfield station is a Black Circles agent, so net prices, local fitting.
